yeah i know, in pharmacy theres alot of money to be made Alhamdulilah, especially because of the nhs system. i guess people want to be doctors also because of the status but most of all being able to help people Insha'ALLAH. i know what you mean though, when i had to use the scalpel on a cadaver (dead person) i was abit shocked too, but after a while you get used to it...
if I was a doctor, I dont think I would still have the same emotions/feelings that a normal person would have. if I see someone die infront of me....it would no longer affect me like i'td affect a "normal" non doctor person. I hope u can see what i mean.
ive noticed...if a persons really badly hurt themselves....they tell a normal person what happened and that person reacts in a totally different way to a doctor would. the doctors seem totally unaffected and act like its no big deal.

lol i know what you mean. of course doctors feel very upset also when something doesnt work out, but most can control themselves because in a job like that you have to i suppose...

dunno if u guys have seen Munnabhai...but the bit where the principal J-dot-Asthana asks the med students, how will u be good docs, and tht lil mousey girl puts her hand up and says something like..."unki dost ban kar"...and he completley blasts her for that....commenting that.....if he had to operate on his daughter-then he is for sure gonna be stressing, his hands shaking etc. moral of the story he was trying 2 put across was; to befirend patients, would alter ur sense of rationale as a doctor....u wouldnt be thinking logically, u'd be scared to make whatever decisions.....
I agree that doctors HAVE to become personally-detached from these emotional situations!
if i hurt myself and told my non-doctor husband…hed be sympathetic and would try and make me feel better even though its nothing big -which i would find really sweet and romantic…if he was a doctor he’d say “shut up its nothing”
a non-doctor would be concerned and force me to take the medicine and get upset if i dont etc.etc. the doctor would just say “it’ll resolve within a few days-nothing to worry about” i hope u can understand wot i mean

lol i remember watching that film when i was actually at uni during one of the breaks! made me laugh alot when the guy exposed munnah! on a serious point your right docs have to try control thier emotions, but at the same time be down to earth with the patients...
no no no! thats totally not what i mean!
I mean dont take the decisions u make 2 heart if they dont turn out right (for example a 90yr old woman needs a hip replacement-in a lot of pain, and she cant bare it, u go ahead and give her an op, she makes a good recovery, but develops hosp-acq. pneumonia and dies a week later.....In this situation I would NOT feel bad. cos the op was the right thing 2 have done at the time....her developing an infection was out of my control....do u get me? obviously i'd be sad tht she died....but i wouldnt let the decision to operate haunt me! I never have, and Inshallah never will treat another human being as a machine...thats outta the question.
off course if shes 90 and needs a hip replacement....doing it for her on the nhs would be a totally dif question....considering that finances are tight. i wouldnt wanna make them kinda decisions.
let me tell u one thing impulse....finances are NOT tight.....thats aload of spiel!....the govt. isnt as poor as it makes out! every person who at some point has contributed to the economy deserves healthcare.
