I am going to Karachi in the summer, inshallah. What do people take to Pakistan as gifts these days. I know many years ago, cosmetics, sweaters, chocolates/candy were good choices. But what about now? When I ask my cousin, she tells me they get everything there and not to waste money! :
Most stuff in the stores here comes from there. As the fashion here has alot of “eastern” touches.
I will be staying with relatives and I want to take the gifts for them. Would it make more sense just to give a “cash” gift so they can buy what they need there?
Best advice: Save up the money, land in Karachi and go buying stuff with them or buy urself. You get the same thing for less. Trust me we don't have anything better than what they have. All the same stuff!
We do the whole cash thing i think it works fine especially when u dont know wha tthey are into...btw i was gonna say camcorders or digital cameras but they get better ones there if they have the money
