Do you guys just randomly get gifts for your friends? Is that a thing these days?

Not randomly. I might if I come across something I know they would like but it's not very likely or very frequent. It would probably apply more friends' kids than friends.

I do, since I live in another state from my BFF we exchange and send gifts to each other randomly and on and off. I love getting gifts in general so whenever I see something I know the Mr, the BFF or mom would like I either write it down to buy in the future or get it to give them. I have a whole bookmark section for stuff I know the Mr. would like. >.<

Whenever I buy something cute for myself I always buy one for my best friend too (unless I'm buying something ridiculously expensive like a laptop). Things I've bought her randomly include Keychains, wallets, cute pens/pencils for work etc (so basically small things). Big/thoughtful gifts are for special occasions only.
