Suggest me some handicrafts one can make for an expecting baby.
One thing for sure is I can knit a blanket … and knitting is alright - the simple kind of knitting is easy.
But is there something more different from the ordinary that would be simply lovely to make for a baby? AND at the same time easy to make (since I am very much not a sewing / knitting / crochetting etc kind of person). I can’t think of anything else to make other than a blanket.
And that’s a bit … boring.

hmm…lets see…here’s some ideas…
feeder bottle woollen covers, sweaters, little woollen dolls, some small decoration piece as a wall hanging, a bag for the mummy, shoes, overalls, caps, socks… all these will look adorable 
…and u can think of much much more

If u are into sewing then make some
cotton/rayon pj's for the baby.
Being a fairly new mom I know how handy those can be
sometimes.
pj= a top and a bottm (nothing complicated).

khair, u can knit a sweater and cap... or make some cute frocks... ya quilt and pillow covers with lace and make it look real cute...
assuming the kid is in US, ask the parents to open a 529 acct and make some contribution to that. Much better than a blanket :D

Have you thought of making a wall mural out of fabric? I don't know specifically what they are called but you can get patterns from the fabric store.....just buy it and stuff it with cotton batting or quilt filling, sew it together and voila!
How about a gift basket that has cute things in it like baby blanket, bottle, socks, diapers, etc. Adorable, right?!
