My friend told me this could be done..does anyone have any experiences with it? If so what are the procedures involved ..what benefits does it have?
Re: Gifting cars to Pakistan
No particular benefit now a days, I'd suggest buying a car in Pakistan at least u will get a local make & dont have to pay loads for servicing & spareparts.
Re: Gifting cars to Pakistan
havent gone through the procedure but have the following info.
Car should be less than 3 years old or new.
If used should be registered in the name of sender for some months.
Sender should have proof of income (payslips, tax returns etc)
Cars under 1.6 (Iguess) only qualify for duty free gift scheme. for bigger engine you pay some duty.
the person you are sending to should be blood related or close relative
the person who is sending shouldnt be oversead student receiving payments from Pakistan.
Sender should have stayed out of Pakistan for some years. etc
take cars, yours documents to nearest High Commission of Pakistan and get the Authorisation letter
and then you can send the car to Pakistan as gift. oh yess only 1 car per year as gift by same person. :)
