I never thought I would post in this forum but as they say never say never.
An x-co-worker of mine emailed me for advise regarding a wedding gift for her current male co-worker in Pakistan. She is the project manager and he is someone who works with her on the projects. It will have to be mailed to Pakistan (Lahore), so weight does matter. She is a gori, if that matters at all.

what happened with the gift then AJ? the crystal items are not very huge, I guess if u buy them and mail them out yourself u can pack them however u wish, no?

oh please no crystal. desi ppl give way too much crystal. crystal vase, crystal jug, crystal cnadle holders, crystal frame, crystal clock, crystal meth... no no..strike that last one off the list.

But desis give out the cheap crystal with lead in it. Swaroski is gorgeous.

I gave her my suggestion. She didn't tell me what she sent. Maybe I should ping her.
And I thought the best desi wedding gift is a wall clock. We got like four different wall clocks for our wedding. Which is really ironic because desis are never on time for anything.

yeah but crystal in general has been played out. swarovski or some kmart house brand.

That’s so true! My chachu has four clocks on his wall (just one wall)..and he’s NEVER on time!!
