Re: Gift boxes,buskets etc
Bangles are a real good idea. My friends and relatives who are abroad usually love to get the following:
· Bubble Bath
· Glycerine Soap Bar
· Silky Body Cream
· Perfumed Body Powder
· Massage Mouse
· Relaxing Eye mask (to use either hot or cold)
· Massage Cream with Shea Butter
. Small scented candles or tea lights
. Assorted candies/chocolates or if you can get little boxes of bite sized mithai.
If you can get them in tiny samole sizes, you can arrange everything with a colourful stuffed toy and your friends will love you.
Hope this helps
Re: Gift boxes,buskets etc
^Those look so pretty!
Re: Gift boxes,buskets etc
yeah I guess you can throw in a bunch of things. I guess the whole idea mahismart is trying to imply is you can include a variety of things in the form of a gift basket. Like you said as well candles/tea lights, chocolates, bangles, gajray and a lot of the things she mentioned are pretty good. It has a lot to do with PRESENTATION as well. I think how well you present the gift basket/presents has a lot to do. OF COURSE, what's in there counts as well :D
Re: Gift boxes,buskets etc
Hi :) From my experience with people living in Pakistan, they do not appreciate it if you give them any kind of toiletries ie: shower gel/creams, mainly because they think you're implying they have poor hygiene (that reasoning baffles my mind too). So anyways, like mona said, tea lights/scented candles would be nice. You could also include some small jewellery sets for the girls and maybe some other knick knacks like sweets, small perfume bottles. Is the wedding in Karachi?? Because if it is you can go to Saeed Ghani or even that superstore Macro, they have lots of quirky little things you use. Hope this helps!
Re: Gift boxes,buskets etc
dezire, I just wanted you to have an idea of small things that you can put together and giveaway as gifts. I remember, my friend gave us little lotion bottles from bodyshop as a token of her appreciation as e worked hard to make her wedding clothes packed. She bought tiny teddy baers with clasped arms and placed each bottle in the circle of their arms. I remember all of us were delighted and never complained.
Another friend of mine distributed small green angels and red heart shaped scented soaps with the party favours the groom family had brought. Again no one complained and were quite happy.
Anyways, you can add the following if you want:
. bracelets
. earrings
. anklets
. bangles
. assorted candies/chocolates
. scented tea lights/candles
. small colourful purse/wallet/mobile pouch

Re: Gift boxes,baskets etc
That is ecellent, dezire. I really like the idea.
I’m sure u can gift whatever u like, its a very nice gesture, why do think it would b awkward?
Put in DEODOURANT (lol) and nice aftershave / mens bodyspray so he doesnt smell when he comes near u!
Breath mints, so he has minty fresh breath!
Not really the mints, he may get offended (but its a useful thing all the same!)
Some decent chocolates if u think he likes them, otherwise put in your favourite chocolates, so u can have them instead.
Erm, a scented shower gel set / shave kit.
Handkerchiefs if he is pakistani bcos for some reason pakistani men love their rumaals.
A signed and framed photo of his favourite football player?
Asian babes magazine? Oh sorry, gone too far now!
