Gift for MIL

My dad is going back home next month and I want to send my MIL a gift as I haven’t gotten a chance to do so since the wedding and she’s always sending me something or another. The thing is I don’t know what to send her she doesn’t wear any make-up so that’s out of the question, and the last time I was talking to her I mentioned sending a perfume and she said she doesn’t want any more perfume as she has too many of them and the same thing goes for purses, shoes and she doesn’t wear watches. I have gifts picked for everyone else just can’t seem to find anything for her. So I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what I could send her other than the things I mentioned any suggestion would be appreciated. thanx

Re: Gift for MIL

I know its still hot there but how about a cashmere cardigan or a pashmina? December is only around the corner and it does get pretty cold....autumn wimnter collections are out now so I am sure you can find something suitable for her.

How about a small electrical gift? ermmmm digital camera? mobile phone, epilator (lol)

Re: Gift for MIL

^ I was going to suggest a nice cardigan too -- something she can have at formal events as well.

Re: Gift for MIL

hmmm a cardigan isn't a bad idea will look for one over the weekend.........thank you for the suggestions :)

Re: Gift for MIL

^ Last year, I found a really beautiful one at Anne Taylor Loft (and on sale!). A lovely cream cashmere cardigan with rhinestone detail. I'm sure it's not there now, but it's definitely a store to check out.

Shawls
Cardigans
Shoes

Re: Gift for MIL

A nice lovely Bag

Re: Gift for MIL

Rat poison. I think I am doing this right.....

Re: Gift for MIL

^ Why do you perpetuate the stereotype :nahi:

I like the idea of a sweater or a shawl. If you’re going to do a shawl, try a cape since it’ll be a little different from the typical shawls you’ll find in Pakistan. Same with sweaters - look for one with an A-line or loose cut - those look better on shalwar-kameez or saris.

Re: Gift for MIL

Stereotype? I thought this was reality!

Re: Gift for MIL

ROTFL @ Rat Poison !!!:rotfl:

Re: Gift for MIL

Madam DO NOT SEND SHOES if its your first gift post marriage to her! Many mum in laws (or even mums) might take it the wrong way:p If shes into reading, you can send her a book, or send her two gifts- like a shawl, and some cosmetic that she uses...or a nice suit, or something related to a hobby she pursues...

Good Luck! :) Let us know what you get!

Re: Gift for MIL

thanx for the suggestion guys… @ CM :nahi:

I ended up getting her a nice brown cardigan with rhinestones on the front and it has a bit of embroidery on it

Re: Gift for MIL

Since you are done this time , next time send a Ja Namaz , a tasbhih , wazu ka lota and baray harfoon wala Quran.
If she is into religion she would appreciate it and if she is not she will get the hint.
