So I am going to London and Barcelona next week and will be staying with my husband’s best friend for 3 days in London. They recently got married (a week before we did in Aug 2008) and she is pregnant. I have never met the wife but want to take something for her. Any suggestions? I was thinking of getting a gift palette from Sephora but don’t know what to get and am thinking of spending upto $100.
I bought cute Ralph Lauren outfits for her baby which is due later this year (sizes for new born and infant). So i don’t want to get anything else for the baby, just for her.
What do you guys think I should get considering I have never met her and she’s pregnant. I am also willing to venture out of sephora. ideas?
Having travelled and lived in London--I know they love Victoria's Secret stuff cuz u can find only a few things (very sexy and angel lotions) on just one stand in Heathrow--no where else.
Something else they are totally crazy abt there is Coach--since Coach is totally American and cant be found there (for under $100--they have really cute pouches and small purses)

I don't wanna get perfumes cuz i feel they are too common and plus I hate it whenever I get perfumes so i wouldnt give that unless i knew the person wanted a perfume and knew the exact one they wanted.
What sucks is that London doesnt have a Sephora so even if i get her a gift receipt with these things she wont be able to exchange anything.
Sumorani, I recently gave someone the LORAC eye palette as a gift and she loved it! I picked it because the case looked beautiful and extra special. The eyeshadow colors are great also. I don't know about the others, I'm sure they are great too, but I'm biased..go for the eye palette!
Oh yeah, I've actually heard the Stila lipglosses are good too. I'd pick the lipgloss and eye palette. Good luck!

i like swarovski jewelry but i dont want to give jewelry either. specially since i have never met her i feel like jewelry is more personal. im gonna stick to sephora.
how about nice handmade/embellished set floor cushions or sofa cushions?
I dont give out personal gifts like jewellery,perfumes,makeup to someone whose taste I have got no idea about so I prefer to choose neutral household stuff as presents for situation like your's.
PERFUMES are a big no no. scent is so personal and you dont know what kind of smells the person prefers (for some reason, ppl keep giving me SWEET smelling perfumes-- i literally toss them in the trash! such a waste!).
from ur options, i'd say 1 and 3 would be good. the colours in 1 are quite wearable for any skin tone.
Ugh! I went today and the lorac eye palette was sold out and supposedly the stila lipglosses are only available during Christmas. It's ridiculous then that they still sell them online. Have to call a few other sephoras tomorrow to see if they have the eye palette in stock. They seem to be one of the best sellers.
I don't wanna give any home décor stuff for one they recently got married as so did we and we got a lot of home décor things, and I'm sure they did as well. Also, I wouldn't like it if somekve cane to my place and gave me anything like that since I have my place set up in a specific manner I feel that anyone that got me any décor stuff would go to waste as a re-gift.
Because they have cute gift sets, in makeup, skincare, bath and body. All my skincare is from shiseido and all my makeup is from nars and makeup forever. They sell all three brands. IMO sephora is pretty great.
