I think your point is well-taken. The images are converted to JPG's by the CGI to create thumbnails. It is for this reason, that animated GIF's can't be shared on GUPSHUP. Our techies are aware of this issue, and hopefully they will come out with some solution, in due course.
Thanks for reminding.
The answer might be simple…This server…

…still has gifs running…Make one more cgi script for .gif files separately, but link its upload to the above mentioned server…One for JPEGs and one for gifs…It can be done, look for yourself…

Let me know what you think please…![]()
All the images you mentioned in your post are BEFORE we implemented the thumbnail CGI. We used to allow both JPG and GIF's upload and they would appear without thumbnails using the tags. Not anymore.
But as I said, the techies are aware of this issue. Hopefully they can come up with some kinda solution. No promises, though. :)
Best way to explain is to show it...

How about...
[thumb=B]Upload1.JPG[/thumb]
Well? Is it possible?
Well, anything is possible. What I have told you earlier, twice, is that our technical folks are aware that animated GIFs can not be uploaded. Will we get a solution? We don't know, but the actual solution is more than just a screen design, thats for sure. They have to work the back-end and resolve certain other related issues.
And now, lets close this discussion. If you have any other great ideas, please email them to [email protected]
Thanks
