Gibs scored 100 against Bangaldesh and in the process became 3rd player after Zaheer Abbas and saeed anwar to score 3 consecutive hundreds in onedayers. Its world Record.
Gibbs is a very good batsman and very under-rated. He does very well on spining tracks.
Waise India-West Indies 1st ODI is in my city :) I wish they could play the last ODI there - I would be there during that time. Last time our team played there - Dada won the match for us (broke the jinx).
gibbs, of south africa, already levelled the record by hitting 3 hundreds in consecutive matches (odi) but failed to get the 4th hundred as he remained unbeaten on 97....
zaheer abbas and saeed anwar also have 3 100s in a row in odi....
a wide ball that went to the boundary made up for 5 runs and denied gibbs his 100....
he cud still have achieved it had he not run the single and instad gone for a 4 or 6....
he also missed out on hitting the fastest 100 for south africa....
For god sakes!!
He had 30 overs to hit a boundry, its not like his team was going to loose the match, that is foolishness on part of Gibbs, he could have gone down as the only man in the history to score 4 centuries in a row, it doesn't matter who is it against, Bangladesh or Pakistan, century is a century.
I did not see the match but according to newspapers there exist a possibility that the last ball bowled to Gibbs was bowled a very wide on purpose. Any views....?

But still, even if that ball was bowled wide, Gibbs still had 30 overs to score those for runs, that is exact 120 balls, that is something he will regret.
