Cutting trees

READING the news in the Dawn Internet edition about 10,000 trees being cut down by some government agency was extremely frustrating and mind-boggling. While the whole world is focusing on global warming and the effect of carbon on the atmosphere and climate change, we in Pakistan are doing totally the opposite.

Greed and love for money supersedes common sense and love for our own environment.

It seems there are no checks and balances and nobody is accountable.

Here in Los Angeles in order to cut a tree, if it is an extremely old or diseased tree, we need a report from an arbourist and then we have to plant a tree to replace it.Please keep the environment green as we need to save our planet and let common sense and love for our environment prevail.

Some Dastagir residents here :halo:

I always thought that Mukka was symbolic to military’s fist into Karachites in the form of damon AH.

Re: Giant trees as Mukka chowk succumbed to MK’s khudal

well uncle, just a concern

do trees also die? (i mean if we are not cutting them)

Re: Giant trees as Mukka chowk succumbed to MK's khudal

Trees will grow again, we do not need these giant trees which are old enough and are dangerous and can fall in the heavy winds and storms! If they fall, they can kill people and and damage property, and unfortunately they did during and before that time of rain and storms!
So the cutting of these trees is jaiz and halaal because its in the anticipation of saving human lives!

I say grow trees, but keep them under control!

Re: Giant trees as Mukka chowk succumbed to MK’s khudal

its good u said that otherwise i would suggested you to see this. (yes, once they were trees as well!)

Re: Giant trees as Mukka chowk succumbed to MK's khudal

This article looks good only when we are living in USA or in heaven! Talking about Pakistan, Karachi and envirnment, first we need to learn some basic points regarding a clean envirnment! Cutting tree might come in the last! ...

Things to do!

  • Throw garbage in appropriate bins, make separate bins for different kind of garbages!
  • Fix all smoky vehicles!
  • Stop using horns, loud speakers and AV tapes on the streets!
  • Make sure to supply clean drinking water and healthy food!
  • Stop selling cholay, pakoray on the roads mixed with dust, smoke and dirt ...
  • Fix roads and foothpaths to avoid delays and smokes! and so on ... *]Last but but not last ... wash hands before eating! These are few thing to worry for a developing country men!

That word was derived from "Safe", I later found out.

Aliyish, I used to be in Govt. Commerce, so i know what you're talking about

Re: Giant trees as Mukka chowk succumbed to MK's khudal

I don't know what kind of trees they were talking about but we had few "sufaiday ka darakht" in park back of our house and they were all sort of annoying to us, they had become crow-colony, assisting drug-addicts and what not... finally they have all been removed and a "park" is made which is really really nice.
