if any one can remind me when the 40 day period after giving birth finishes, do you do ghusl on the 40th day or on the 41st day?
and how do you work out the exact 40 days?
i should remember this from last time but i don’t ![]()

i didn’t know it had to be exact.
i’ve heard you can read namaaz when you stop bleeding.
You dont just calculate it by counting days, you have to look at your postpartum bleeding [nifas]. If your bleeding stops before 40 days, then you do ghusl at that point, and can resume your prayers, intimacy etc, you dont have to wait for 40 days

The 40 days is a cultural thing not religious, As mentioned above if you have stopped bleeding you can do ghusl and resume as normal.
