Ghulami

Re: Ghulami

slavery was not abolished like wine was prohibited. that is true. perhaps slavery was too much inter-woven into that society. So steps were taken to gradually do away with this.

1) So much emphasis was laid on freeing slaves. Freeing slave is made one of the prime good deeds.
2) Restriction was placed that you cannot take slaves other than POWs as a result of an armed conflict.
3) Even for the POWs, two options were laid down after the war is over
a) Free them as a favor
b) Free them for ransom
So from the above, it becomes clear that NO new slaves can be taken into permanent bondage

Re: Ghulami

24:34) And those who find no means of marriage should keep themselves chaste, until Allah grants them means out of His bounty....

the above verse clearly shows that there is no room for sex out of wedlock.

Re: Ghulami

This provision of free or ransom was only for earlier conflicts like Badr ...have you read any Seerah or futuhat history that was clearly not the case

Re: Ghulami

So all the Sahaba did Zina who had sex with slave girls ?

Re: Ghulami

^ quote the names of those sahabas. they must have married those women. if sex with slave girls was valid then why Quran talked about marrying slaves. ??

Re: Ghulami

Lol you want me to list quarter of the names in Isaba.
just see hadith of abu Saeed khudri ra, Jabir b abdullah ra and buraida aslami ra in Bukhari and Muslim for starters

You can marry slaves and free women yes but there is no difference to kids from them but their legal status as captives free women is different

Re: Ghulami

do you have source for his information?
if not don’t put up such stuff.

Re: Ghulami

this is questionable stuff. people overlook the holy book and look here and there to support their crooked beliefs

Re: Ghulami

aisay hi tharki molvioon ki wajah say Islam badnaam hoa hai.

Re: Ghulami

a good video describing how Islam tackled “already” existing social menace of slavery

Re: Ghulami

This is so true. Actually, many people who consider themselves enlightened and try to enlighten others are not aware of basic source i.e. Quran. On other side, religious lots faith is so fragile that it can not dare to tell people that there are thousands fabricated ahadees and you will even find some ahadees in sahah satta which contradict Quran.

You have been asked to post in English so others can read and participate as well, and/or post in your own words. Copy/Paste dumps cannot lead to a productive discussion that lacks personal insight of participants.

When you are using a copy/paste to support your opinion, you are required to post a link to the source for validity. Thank you.

Re: Ghulami

psyah bhai-- I differ on this. Employment predated Islam and slavery was quite different from what employment meant even in that time. Even there was a distinction between servants and slaves.
To equate slavery with employment is like missing the forest for the trees.

Re: Ghulami

Peace @ReadMe

You have an audience  - Go on … please define to me the archaic definitions of employee, servant, slave and free person and provide me texts that I can read that demonstrate that fact.

Re: Ghulami

Psyah -- Isnt that too obvious. Employment means a salary and a choice to leave the employment at self will..Also no sexual harassment.
