I am trying to compile a list of short, sweet ghost stories in Pakistani culture. I grew up hearing quite a few but unfortunately my memory fails me and I cannot recall any. Please tell any ghost stories or associated ghastly incidents that far and dear relatives often lay claim to experiencing. Further: are there any resources I can consult?

Re: Ghosts!
I have 2.
In one, a physician was coming home from work in Karachi, and he noticed a lady in white hitchhiking. Its karachi, and its late at night, so he thought it odd. He pulls over - the lady just wants to get dropped at home - her ride didn’t come for her or some excuse. He tries talking to her, but she doesn’t want to talk much. He gets to the house that she gives directions to. She’s in the back seat, and he turns around, and sees that she has disappeared. He’s like
, so he goes to the home and asks if a girl by the name of so-so lives there. Its a hindu’s house, according to the story, and the person at the house says that she died some years ago.
Story 2:
A man moves into a house with his family, and supposedly, a really pissy jinn lives there. Rumor with the servants (who came with the house) is that some kid pee’d in the gardens, and angered the jinn. So, man ignores all this as nonsense, and moves in with his family. He notices weird things going on in the house, but the one happening i remmeber is that one night he woke up in the middle of the night, and saw blood dripping from the walls. He screamed, got the servants, came back, and the blood was gone. They moved out of the house afterwards.
I heard these stories from relatives. The individuals in the stories are people my relatives know. But who knows, anyone could make up that stuff. But they’re fun to narrarate.
Re: Ghosts!
^ PCG ..are these what you consider "short, sweet ghost stories" as sarah had asked for? or ghastly incidents she asked for. :)

Re: Ghosts!
whats with the ghost thing - I want to meet one for dinner by the candlelight.
Re: Ghosts!
would you be the main course for the dinner?
Re: Ghosts!
^^ my cook makes excellent partridge, and my man serves it like nobody's business Nothing would be more romantic - with the rock gargoyles glistening in the lightning flashes of the storm going on outside and blood of dracula being performed on the piano
Re: Ghosts!
refer to her reference to "associated ghastly incidents"...
:o
Why, old guy, did I scare you?
Re: Ghosts!
Mods Please delete the post # 6. I can not tollerate these non-sense stories trying to portray jinns in nasty horrific and inhumane manner. Throughout centuries, jinns have borne the burnt of human attrocities, cruelness in form of capturing their peaceful habitat, forcefully kicking out their families and communities from deserted places in order to quinch their thirst for land and resources ...
Still they have the audicity to call these peaceful creatures, ghastly. Shame on you !
Re: Ghosts!
What's the use? There are no such things as ghosts...
Re: Ghosts!
they had a ghost in pk called Mywish,
sh'e bizzy haunting the english these days.
the shortest ghost story ever.
Re: Ghosts!
I did see her reference to ghastly incidents, thats why I asked which category did you think your stories were in ![]()
and yes, nerdy chica, all of your posts scare me.
Re: Ghosts!
Once on the beach, I saw a cute little girl making sand castles and took her photo. When the photo was developed there was no sign of the girl or sand castles.
Re: Ghosts!
