Faisal Qureshi is just amazing :) I mean it is wrong to say that his acting is poor. He is doing a great job specifically in The Ghost I really really appreciate his job.

It’s wrong to bash Babar like this because he has made some really GOOD dramas such as Man o Salwa which is one of my favorites as well as others’.. also Maane na yeh dil might have a bit explicit but was a good drama with good direction nonetheless. Usko director actors ne banaya ho ya kisi aur ne, that doesn’t matter at all.. balke achhi baat hai ke they have encouraged him to become one because his work speaks volumes and he’s one of the most talented ones around. Many good directors go through a patch where they start making bakwaas type dramas but that doesn’t mean we overlook the good work they have done. It is such attitude among Pakistanis that doesn’t let the new talent emerge and be successful.. always criticizing each other instead of providing any encouragement or ways for them to be more successful. :rolleyes:
Same thing with our actors too- Faisal is a great actor. His choice of dramas may not always be good but he is very talented.

Hum ne tou sirf ye kaha thah ke DIRECTORS ko ACTORS banatay hein.. aur ye baat aik LOGIC ke tehat kahee theeh.

Dekhein…garr ACTOR acchee acting nahin karega…tou DIRECTOR lakh accha ho…SERIAL maar khah jaiga…! that’s for sure!

Ye baat bhi apni jagah ayaan hai.. ke jitne bhi DIRECTORS hein…woh khud sets pe seekhtay hein..balkay hum ne tou kaiee aisay DIRECTORS dekhey hein jo ba’qaid’gi se ACTORS se mash’wara karte hein framing ka…moves ka…panning ka…aur situational locations ka!

Babar became a good director..also due to good scripts he got priviledged with..and for that too..credit must go to Sultana Siddiqui and her team..at HUM & MOOMAL that Seema Ghazal impact finally moved aside and others with more powerful stories and plots came up. This also benefitted TV Stars—that they had better opportunities and stronger characters to show their talent and worth.

Faisal Qureshi is the gift of Lahore to TV Showbiz…for his talents par excellence that he has indeed become a rhyme & reason for Babar to become a popular DIRECTOR…and folks, situation with other channels seem pretty rough–specially the longing for serials like MERI ADHOORI MUHABBAT and some others!

Humayun Saeed may have lost his touch with acting..but his looks and appearance still plays a very heavy role in making him yet a very very popular TV Artiste in Pakistan and abroad (with Pakistanis)…!!

The director works closely with the cast and crew to shape the drama and may often take suggestions on pertinent issues. Some like to conduct rigorous rehearsals in preproduction while others do so before each scene. In either case this process is essential as it tells the director as well as other key members of the crew (Director of Photography, Stunt Choreographer, Hair Stylist etc) how the actors are going to play the scene, which enables them to make any necessary adjustments. Directors often use storyboards to illustrate and a directors viewfinder to set up camera angles.

A good director would be able to extract good acting from the cast.. directors make actors, actors make fans.

Now then...with regard to so much discussion on GHOST I thought **
**to ask Umaira Ahmed---some questions--I have seen on this thread.
Frankly...I have never met her nor seen her---have heard of her
from Sultana, Yasir Nawaz ans Sania.....so I called her to be pleasantly
surprised that she knows me and my family well...and that she also wrote some **book which she had sent to my Dad for review. She also met my bhabi ***at LUMS shehad gone for some workshop...that my bhabi heads Beaconhouse in Karachi.*

Firstly--she politely backed out then when proximity became evident,
she agreed and tonite I'll record her voice interaction on some points
some folks have pondered on GHOST on tube (SUNDAYS) these days.

Will post the link by Monday as I leave for Dubai for RAMCHAND PAKISTANI show in Dubai Film Festival..for four days enroute to
Vienna.

Umera Ahmed speaks well, although she didn't say as much. she sounds very interview-wary, very unlike showbiz mindset but then I guess she is not part of the showbiz.

I' don't agree with the statement "*DIRECTORS ko ACTORS banatay hein" *!

The logic "agar actor achi acting na kare to director laakh acha ho serial maar kha jaiga".... is totally wrong because agar director acha ho to acting buri kaise ho sakti hai???

lets look at examples of good directors like sahira kazmi, shahzd khalil .the level of acting in thier serials is always top notch.even if they work wih rank newcomers this standard is never compromised. actors good or bad are always looking for a good director who can streer them in the right dirction. in alpha bravo charlie, shoaib mansoor made stars out of ordinary people. a couple of them acted in other serials after ABC, but none of those serials achieved success.

A director is the captain of the ship. An actor is just like a puppet.its the directors job to make these puppets move. professionally and ethically, a director is responsible for the debacle or success of his production. right from scripting, filming, acting, editing through to post production its his duty to monitor every department and aspect of his production. if anything fails he's repsonsible for the debacle unless he wants to do an alan smithee.
thats why in every serial /film , the director's first credit is "a film by (director's name)" or " a (director's name) film".then come the stars and the rest of the cast.
