I went to an exhibition at the Met on Genghiz Khan. It was a superb show highlighting the art and artifacts from the mongol rule in central asia, persia, china and India. It is amazing to see when barbarians came into contact with cultured people, they assumed some of the attributes of the conquered. From the islamic miniatures to the tiles. The great book compilations withe pages depicting islamic life in the style and stories of christianity, hinduism and buddhism.
For NY area guppies and thos who are visiting…it’s a great treat.
Excuse me, but I'm not sure if "Genghiz Khan" is the right word. Please paste a link to an online dictionary every time you use a controversial, multi-lingual word. Thank you.
