I found that the customs was also followed in Sikh families. Google uncle says:
“Gharoli” ceremony is held in morning of the wedding day in the groom’s house. During the ceremony the groom’s sister-in-law with some female relatives go to a well or Gurudwara to fill a “gharoli” or a special decorated jug with water. The water is later used to bath the groom.
The report by SAMA TV says that in old days GhaRoli used to be filled from ponds in villages and now ladies fill ghaRoli from nearby relative / friends. So GhaRoli of Nazimabad can be filled with mineral water of Clifton
Because its not followed in Sindh and I have put the question whether its followed in all Punjabi families. BTW in Fatima Surayya Bajiya’s serials like Afshan they shown GhaRolis.
