I have a hot pink kamkhaab ka gharara too......I should make a new shirt with that and put it to use.
Also have a plain, ivory satin one that could use a jazzed up new shirt.....maybe in lace.....what do you guys think?
for my mehndi i had a gharara made from silk - we kept the gota (i think thats what the bit where the pleats start) quite wide to keep a traditional wide gharara look and it worked very well - very easy to wear, flowy and still achieved the traditional look - would be a good fabric to wear as a guest too i think.
Will see if i can dig up pics of the one i was inspired by or i can PM you pics of mine if you're interested!
^ I wore my mom's w/a new shirt this past weekend at a wedding (beige and gold khamkhwaab gharara w/a green shirt).

My mom’s is beige too and I think it is kamkhawab or brocade..ok I don’t know for sure because I am not good with fabric types..it’s beige, golden with shades of green, light blue and pruple. I’m trying to post picture here but can’t. Help anyone?
Gharara sounds like a dream
I would definitely look into an updated version of chiffon jamavar (very mulaim) and oh my the colour palettes are endless…I’ll dig up pictures once I can
