i cant find any recent gharara pics. want to wear on on my mehndi.
i found a old dupatta of my mom which i want to get it made with…its so beautiful..

btw do u girls get ur own mehndi clothes or from d inlaws?..

help please..

my mom is making my mehndi dress (mixing it with her baraat dress)

I think ghararas are a bit too much for mhendi...mhendi dresses should be simple

I had a gharara on my mehendi- it was gorgeous and way fun to wear. It doesn't have to be a super heavy one if you want to keep it simple. I say go for it!

Aww I wish my mum still had some of her clothes, she didn't really have a proper wedding when she got married, she just did a simple nikah so she didn't have any outfits.
I LOVE that you girls are wearing your mum's outfits though

I love colorful ghararas for mehndi and mayun functions. Lovely! I would go with the traditional cut (gote at knee) with minimal or no kaam.

regular gharara: gote at knee, uses slightly less fabric vs. a farshi gharara and it hits the ground but has no trail behind it.

farshi gharara: gote at mid-calf, uses lots more fabric for the gheyr and for it to slide along on the farsh.

then get a regular. a farshi will be heavier, longer, and is also a more formal gharara.

I love gharara’s - you should totally wear one on your mehendi :slight_smile: If you get something from a light material without alot of kaam, they are SO comfortable to walk in. I wish I could wear one everyday :stuck_out_tongue:
I wore one for my mayoun and wedding… so comfy!!! My mayoun one was really simple so I was able to dance and have fun in it. I can’t upload pictures from work but you can check it here :slight_smile:

It’s a great way to pull of a fun/colourful look on your mehendi - I say go for it! I also like the traditional gharara the best
