gharara- materials & lining
hello ladies!
i have a couple of questions about gharara’s…
if i want to make the bottom in a silk organza material,
a) would that work?
b) what material would work for the lining?
i like how this skirt flows and i’d like to version something like the bottom half of this dress, into a gharara, minus the bow obvs- again, i’m not talking style, i’m talking materials - would it work? or would the gote at the knee bunch up and pouf out the material? and what lining would one use? it seems like they’ve used something and then a couple of layers of the sheer silk organza…

i also like how this organza flows and drapes along her body without poufing out- David's Bridal
granted, she’s also 90 lbs soaking wet, but you get the flow, right? lol
or would silk chiffon be a better choice, like this dress?

i want the fabric to be matte, not shiny, and most likely will opt only for silver or gold threadwork with minimal beading, and it will be white or ivory. example of the style of kaam i’m aiming for, minus the chantilly lace which i would love for the kameez or dupatta edging, maybe - Bridal, Bridesmaid and Junior Bridesmaid gowns by Lazaro - Bridal Style LZ3766 by JLM Couture, Inc.
lazaro used to have their former collections online and they had this beautiful dress with pale, pale coloured threadwork all over it- in a very soft pink, a soft green, and a soft blue on ivory- it was stunning. can’t find a picture of it anymore though- boo! i’m hoping you can come to the rescue, mahismart ![]()
