Problem with drawstring is when you tie it tight (as you will need to to hold it up) it cuts through your skin due to the sheer weight of the lehnga/gharara - trust me i had a sore waist and marks for a fews days!

yes, but its for one night. i think she’ll survive a tight drawstring
i can see the suspenders being uncomfortable too. i mean, wouldn’t they show through the shirt if it was a fitted one?
