Re: Ghar Jamai
btw, the word is ghar jaNwaaii [with noon Ghunna (nasal N)] and NOT Jamaaii...in the West, even daughters don't like to stay with parents after getting married, let alone her husband and it's financially quite easy for the young couples to live on their own.
i know only ONE couple who lives with wife's parents because she is a student and the husband is mother's nephew. since husband was already a close relative of the girl's parents, it alright for them to stay together because they knew each other well.
Re: Ghar Jamai
I know someone who lived with his MIL and FIL for all His life , reason his wife was only child of her parents and they were old, so It was like parents were living with their daughter.
And no they were not burden on their daughter, this FIL has his business and he was helping his
Son In law financially too.
Re: Ghar Jamai
there is one case which is quite popular! they dont live with wife's parents but they live on wife's parents kharcha on seperate ghar.....:D
You mean Bantwa Memon community :D
But parents of the girl in that case make it sure that guy is financially sound. Its simply moneys begets money case :)
Re: Ghar Jamai
I don't think it exists in western culture. Among some South Indian communities like Aishwarya Rai's , the son marries into the wife family per tradition and lives with inlaws. This is because they are matrilineal system of descent and kinship. It is same with Nairs of Kerala. Both communities were claim descent from warrior communities. It still happens today in many families.
You mean Aishwariya's brother married to his cousin?
Re: Ghar Jamai
Zardari was choice of Nusrat Bhutto, but he got little chance to live in 70-Clifton, Bhutto’s family house. Now he lives in Bilawal House like king without his queen
Re: Ghar Jamai
A poll can be open in life1 about this superior act of the guy ![]()
Re: Ghar Jamai
Ghar Jamai is something not considered good in our culture/society,but nowdays I have seen a new dimension to this, now boys when seeking bride to be,ask their in laws to setup a business for them,or settle them abroad, etc etc I hv seen a very bad example of ghar Jamai where a young boy married his first cousin and went to live with his inlaws in Canada, after few months he came back because of the behavior of his wife to him was not respectful at all,and she had an affair wid a white guy whom she wanna marry but her parents insist her to marry this poor guy....
Na sanam mila na visa chala :(
Re: Ghar Jamai
I think She is not talking about aishwariyas bro or cousin, she said like Aishwariy community.![]()
Re: Ghar Jamai
Sakoon bardasht nahi ho raha life1 Mai ![]()
Re: Ghar Jamai

Not sure whom Aishwarya's brother married. What I meant to say was the if her community tradition was followed, then Abhishek would have lived with her in her parent's house and Aishwarya would not be living with the Bachchan household. :)
