no, it refers to the stage during a battle when it's at it's peak involving hand-to-hand combat...there are bodies all around...the actual word is 'GhamAAsaan kii laRaaii'...since it has the letter 'ghaa', as in ghar, it has got to be a Hindi word and indeed it is!
btw, ''gahmaa-gahmii'' [Faarsii] is not same as "ghama-ghami" [Hindi] meaning bheeR-bhaaR. and this is ONE instance why writing in Urdu in Roman CORRECTLY is soooo important....there are a whole array of words that are similar sounding but totally different meanings. sometimes, they have the similar meanings as well...one example is:
sahii *= correct *[Hindi]
saHeeH = correct [Arabi]

In Hindi, sentence used is Ghamaasaan Yudh, no ka or ki is used, this means extensive man to man fighting taking place, or sometimes just extensive fighting.
