The guy is not generally liked in traditional islamic circles. I have listened to his programs in GEO and Aaj. He seems very ariculate and sensible.
So what people have against him.

I've watched his programs too. He talks in reality terms. And i don't really know why people would dislike the man. Another good program to watch is Safr-e-Hidayat on AAJ TV. :)

Ghamdi, is an intellectual, who have good knowledge of Quran, Hadith and History, normally one can find logic and sense in his comments, but as we all know that, any one against MULLA and Taqleed is considered to be a KAFIR. so the same case is with Ghamdi.
Being a human, he have some views which are wrong and/or he can be wrong, as it is fact that not all scholars are totally right and not all of them are totally wrong, the best measure to judge them and their views is quran.

^i have heard his interviews on VOA and he vehemently opposes military's role in politics. I haven't come across anywhere that he said anything bad about Imam Hussain. Can u give me a reference of what u r saying.
