There are two terms used widely these days “Ghairat Brigade” and “Baigharat Brigade”.
If some one defends the independent policy and self reliance by Pakistan, he is put in the “Ghairat Brigade” camp.
On the other hand if someone keeps insisting that US can never do anything wrong and we must follow everything U.S asks us to, he is put in the “Baigharat Brigade” camp. This is not my invention, but widely used terms in our media. There is even a band with the name “Baigharat Brigade” which is famous for their song “Aaloo Aanday”).
Now is getting 15 infraction points for using the term “Baigharat Brigade” to retaliate if someone calls us Ghairat Brigade, justifiable ?
TLK, "Ghairat Brigade" and "Baigharat Brigade" are two terms which are used by the mainstream media in Pakistan and even respected columnists are using them. It is not used to insult someone, but to poke fun on each other. Both terms are mild and have absolutely the same weight.
If one is considered an insult, so should be the other.
That will make the policy more consistent. Otherwise there are people who are being allowed to open their threads with lines such as "Now Ghairat Brigade will say this or that", and I on the other hand get 15 infraction points if I write the term used for the other camp in reply.
I don't know if my opinion matters, but I thought I would still raise it here.
GS is not run in accordance with general media. We have our own set of rules and policies. Just for the example sake, I dont watch TV a lot so I wont have a clue about "Ghairat Brigade" and "Baigharat Brigade". If all of a sudden you call me "Baigharat Brigade", I will really be offended and will be taken as insult. Instead if you call me "Ghairat Brigade" , I would think that you are just translating the term "moral police" in urdu.
For now, I cannot have this policy. If the terms become part of our common language, then yes we can revise the policies, but just because media coined a new term does not mean that GS is going to update the policies in reaction.
