Well I was having a conversation with someone and she said, that the key to get what you want in life is to have a good attitude and look good.
I said that being pretty doesn’t guarantee a good life, one has to work at it, but a good attitude does help.
What do you guys think?

well, good attitude can help you to achieve your goal in life, but it is not only ingredient.
individual strengths and weaknesses are also helpful to get desired result in life.

A good attitude isn't the only thing that can ensure that someone lives a good life.
Luck and good looks help too. Talent/intelligence also.

Good looks are a bonus in every situation. If you have two people who are equal in everything but looks, the one who looks better will have higher chances of going farther. Doesn't sound ideal but then life isn't ideal, is it?

well good looks doesn't give you the wants of yr life, one has to strive hard towards achieving the goals of life ..

Sara she was word by word right. Being good to your self, and looking good is very very important. You cannot change your looks but you can try to look better and presentable. It boosts your attitude towards life and everything.

IMO, someone with a good attitude= optimistic, confident, goal-driven, motivated, patient when faced with adversity, resourceful
It might mean different things for different people. And the kind of attitude required to succeed might be different for different lives. You’re right-there’s no *exact *standard for that 
But I don’t think it’s ‘mumbo jumbo’

People often base thier first impressions about you by your apperance.

I have seen "supposed to be' not so' good looking" ppl who r v v successful and have the Kind fo life they want.
As the saying goes...beauty lies in the eys of the beholder.So you may look good for a person and look "not so good" for another person.
I personally believe looks dont have much to do with it unless its something like Miss Universe as Mirch uncle said.

Does anyone watch those shows by Robert Winston - Child of our time, where better looking toddlers were considered nicer and more popular.
