getting videos on a nexus 7

So I’m thinking of buying this tablet. How easy is it to get videos (avi) on there? I’ve been playing around with my brothers nexus 7 and I can’t figure out how to do it…

I've played movies of all types on there. Key is to download the right apps. Lemme look at my Nexus and get back with you.

Sorry I should have mentioned that I use ubuntu on my pc. It's not a problem on Windows though afaik

I used that app ^^ on most of my Android devices as well. Plays pretty much (almost) every format.

I want to transfer avi files from my computer to a n7. Can do it in Windows but not in ubuntu..

Use Dropbox Stonecold. That's how I transfer all my files from one device to the other.

You’re in the Linux world man. Install SSHDroid on your Nexus7 and then using SFTP (Filezilla etc) you can move whatever files you want. Here’s the link to the appstore item:

Also, there is AirDroid, which sets up a Web interface you can browse to and upload all the different files to your N7.

The possibilites are endless.

I was trying to avoid ota transfers. But if I’m left with no choice …

Have found a solution to this. A nice little app in ubuntu does all the hard work.... awesome

Or you can install an FTP server (there are tones of them in Play Store) or a File Manager that comes with FTP (ES File Manager, or my fav Solid Explorer), or AirDroid
