Theres no doubt Ramadan is a great month, and i look forward to it all year, but getting up for sehri at 4 in the morning is alwayz such a formidable task for me and im sure it must be the same for a lot of ppl.
i know the easy way out is to eat sehri before u go to sleep at night and then get up whenever u get up in the morning (preferably early) and say your fajir, but then it kinda takes all the fun out of it. Thats like the special thing bout the month that u wake up for sehri and eat with the rest of your family and pray etc… n then have aftari together if possible ( i know a lot of us rnt lucky enuf for a family aftari or sehri, esp if ure a student ), but anywayz, coming back to my issue…
so i guess the question is what is the best way of making yourself get up and come out of your warm and comfy blanket in the middle of the night, well may be not middle, but still it is deep sleep time, and make yourself awake enuf to eat sehri (which at my place means parathas!!cuz my mom makes us eat a heavy sehri…
)
hayy thats the charm of it…:k:…i remember having a sehri at the top of a damn plaza in Islamabad … all the chillin air hot parathaz and tea and all that laughing and joking with mates…![]()
…Sehriz are fun…welcome ramazann..
The month of Ramadan is not just a holy month for Muslims it is a time of responsibility...Remember the inner Jihad that everyone talks about?
Well, in this month we practice and train our inner selves to be righteous Muslims for the next 11 months...And getting up for sehri is a way of making sure you get up for all fajr prayers too...
Because if hunger don't get you up, nothing will...:p
Luckily we have a Religion forum which caters specially for this type of topic, hence moved.

Thanks Xtreme...What would we do without you...:p
Xtreme, just by having the word "Ramazan" in a thread does not make it appropriate for Rlgn forum. The topic under discussion was getting up for sehri which is as General as it could get.
I strongly suggest this thread be moved back to get a proper audience.

i agree with funguy.
i really am looking for general comments on the "getting up for sehri" part of the issue, esp from ppl like me: full time students with an overload of college units.....plus a part time job AND an internship !! phew!
so what is the best possible way to make ouselves get up at 4 in the morning when u barely went to sleep like at 1 am !!
at my place... every last sehri is spent at Pancake Parlour with the local desis...
its such a torture.. but the pancakes are all worth it at the end.. staying up till 3.30... driving to the place.. barely have ur eyes open.. sitting around a looong table that can hardly accommodate the 18 or so desis that have come to feast.... we are a nightmare for the waiters there.. :D
but its all good...
