Getting through the ttc period

How did you cope with month after month of trying to conceive? Was it difficult?

I’m having a hard time. I’m extremely depressed these days. I want a baby so much and I’m afraid of the possibility that I may never experience motherhood. I know I need to have faith in Allah and keep praying but I’m so scared.

Did anyone else feel the same way? Why is it so hard? :frowning:

Re: Getting through the ttc period

I know the feeling. You're not alone.

How long have you been trying? Have you spoken to your doctor? Seen a specialist?

Re: Getting through the ttc period

I know how you feel, it's hard month after month of trying but don't loose hope! As Sahar has mentioned, seeing your doctor about it would be the best start.

Re: Getting through the ttc period

being stressed isn't a good idea at all. Try to let go and involve yourself in de-stressing activities like yoga

Re: Getting through the ttc period

It is very difficult and what you are feeling is natural. I am pasting below two things that I found beautiful and I hope might help you* "If you make intense supplication and the timing of the answer is delayed, do not despair of it, His reply to you is guaranteed, but in the way He chooses, not the way you choose, and at the moment He desires, not the moment you desire" [Ibn Atallah]*

  • "Things arent always as they seem. Umm Musa was told to throw her son in the river; Yusuf was left for dead in a well; Maryam delivered a child alone; Yunus was swallowed by a whale; Ibrahim was thrown in the fire and Umm Salamah thought no one could be better than Abu Salamah...yet look at how it turned out for them in the end. So dont worry, Allah has a plan for you" [Amatullah]* We have to remember that everything is in the Hands of Allah and will happen only according to what He has planned. Take comfort in that and trust in His Wisdom, in His Mercy and in His Plan. Inshallah you will conceive when the time is right for you. Just keep trying, do the best you can, and keep making massive dua and istaghfar. At the same time, focus on how many blessings Allah has given you, on what a wonderful life you have and how much to be grateful for. Put everything in your life in proper perspective. Life is never easy, everyone is tested with different challenges and in each challenge is an opportunity for purification for us and for us to come closer to Allah. No matter how difficult it seems today, Inshallah this test will pass and you will be able to get through it, with prayer, patience and gratitude. Keep busy in positive, productive activities and make the most of this time. Your struggles at conception do not define you as a woman or as a wife or as a couple, and dont let anyone make you feel otherwise. Dont dwell unnecessarily on the negative, especially if it is making you overly depressed. If you are not already, make sure you are aware of your cycle, your fertile days and the best times to ttc. If it has been over a year and you have not seen a fertility doctor as yet, do so. Do what is needed on your part and then leave the rest to Allah. Maybe joining an online forum for women trying to conceive will help you, as you will gain a support network and be able to share experiences with so many other women who are going through the same thing as you. Stay positive, keep your hopes up and remember that nothing happens except when its time is right. Inshallah you will be blessed with what you are seeking soon hugs

Re: Getting through the ttc period

Dont worry candy apple, we are on the same boat. Just trust Allah taa’laah on this and think it this way…You are special to Allah Subhan ul taalaah thats why he is testing you…just keep on praying and trying and InshAllah it will happen :hugz:
I also undergo different phases, sometimes a time comes when im left thinking that why its so easy for everyone else and not for me?Then its this trust on Allah taalaah and the thought i shared with you that gives me hope and courage!

Re: Getting through the ttc period

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, especially midnighteyes for that post. It made so much sense.

I've only been trying for a few months now. I had to wait to start trying because of health issues. I'm now on meds for hypothyroidism but my tsh levels are not normalizing for some reason. Every 6 weeks I see my endocronologist and my levels are always off so she adjusts my medication again and then its another 6 weeks of seeing where it goes.

I think what is making it harder for me is knowing that I have health issues that will make conceiving difficult and also will complicate sustaining a pregnancy if I InshAllah become pregnant.

I will keep praying. I hope Allah blesses all those ttc with healthy babies soon InshAllah. :)

Re: Getting through the ttc period

I had my periods few days ago. i felt like crying. I went to see the doctor and she said i shouldnt have issues with getting pregnant as I am on border line of POCS.
