I'm getting married in Jan '09. I live in the US and am going to lahore for the wedding. Anyone who knows me describes me as a perfectionist. So for me, things need to be EXACTLY as I have planned or I get pissed off.. Here's the deal... Good thing is, it was your nikkah, so you still have the rukhsati to look forward to. But sweetheart, the # 1 thing people forget is the bottom line about weddings. I know with the craziness of a wedding, its easy to lose sight of what's most important. Remember how you felt when you sat next to the man you are going to spend the rest of you life with rather than how a flower was out of place in the backdrop. Remember how he first looked at you when you walked up to him...You know his heart skipped a beat as did yours. Remember how you were nervous or even shaking when you realized you were getting married to him. Remember than nothing can replace the feelings of happiness or excitement of being a bride. You have started the most beautiful chapter of your life.... don't lose sight of that. Get over the minor things that didn't go perfectly, instead, day dream about the intimate glances, the soft touches and the fact that Allah has blessed you and your family. You were surrounded by people who love you and those who are beginning to love you. Smile when you think of all the little girls are the wedding that scurried to the stage when they realized the "dulhan" is coming in!! Giggle at the thought of how you inspired these little angels to grow up and want to become brides as gorgeous as you. so my lovely, relax, take a deep breath and cherish everything you've been blessed with and trust me, you will not get time to frown on the things that were missing. Now just for 10 seconds, close your eyes and think of how beautiful you and your man will make your future.. I promise you, you will be smiling...:) peace.
