Under 100ml liquids can be kept in Hand luggage but are other liquids like perfumes & moisturizers kept in suit case supposed to be under 100ml?
Since i am getting married, I have lots of clothes to take with me in suit case i.e. 4 hand bags, Some cosmetics, my jewelery, 6-7 shoes, formal shalwar kameez 5-6, normal shalwar kameez 3-4, sari - 1, 6-7 tunics/tops, 3-4 pants, 7-8 small cardigans, 1-2 shawls and 1-2 quilt sets. Do you think ill be over-weight?
Do bags need to be carried a long way in Heathrow? or dragging them would do no matter how heavy they are?
What else should i be careful of when traveling from Lahore airport to Heathrow?
only 100ml for hand luggage, you can take larger sizes in your suitcase
but i would take minimum and buy what I need fresh from london
the best thing to take is as many shalwar kamise as possible,as you can buy most everything else there better quality and available in every price range...
the distance from airplane to exit depends on the airline, pia usually get a gate quite a long walk away...
make sure that your handluggage doesnt contain any liquid container with volume more than 100ml. Maximum you can carry in your hand luggage is 1L (i.e 10 items of 100ml or less). Make sure you are not putting any jewellary in your checked-in luggage, use hand carry for that.
Your ticket will tell you what maximum weight you can carry.
no limit on the size of liquids you will put in your checked-in baggage but as Girl on Ice suggested that best would be to buy that stuff from London. I am afraid that your baggage may go over weight, so stay careful on that front.
Maximum weight limit on your hand carry luggage is 7kg if you are in economy or they will allow up to 10/12 kg if you are in business class. It is always a long walk from the plane till the arrival area exit at LHR (or till the point where you collect your checked-in baggage and then use a luggage trolly).Luckily heathrow is still one of the airports where you dont have to pay for luggage trolly (am i right guys ? not sure about this as i mostly travel with hand carry luggage only or use type of checked-in bags that can be dragged on wheels).
If you are taking underground (or bus) upon your arrival then it is going to be a long walk after you exit from the arrival hall.
You can ask more if there is something you are not clear about.
Ok LOL, basically 100 ml items in clear bottles. For hand luggage. They give you this white bag you put all your make items in it - I think at the Lahore airport too. Or is it just here. You can put any size bottles/creams etc in your luggage just put them in a shopper/carrier bag so it doesn't ruin all your clothes if it leaks.
Anyway, also as for quilts and shalwar kumeez - you don't need bring all that. We have amazing ones here from India/Pak in Southall (near Ealing, ask your husband to take you) latest fashions, and you can bargain.
If not try Diya online (luton), Suits me, Andaaz, etc and all other fashion boutiques online. I have frequently bought from here and have had no problems they even return items you are not happy with. You could bring your fav Shalweer Kumeezs, couple pairs shoes, jewellery, bags etc also defo your cardi's as you will find it colder here and shawls but I recommend you leave the quilts there, they also sell similiar ones here in Southall but here we all use Duvets which can be bought at most local stores (large ones like Asda or Argos). I am sure your husband has a duvet.
Generally theres not much you need be careful about don't put money in your Luggage - carry it with you in your handbag which you can put infront you in the plane (a small handbag), do not put gold jewellery in your luggage, again carry it. Do not stow this in the plane over your head (where they put the bags) not a good idea, especially if you fall asleep and someone may take it, you can't trust anyone these days unfortunately.
Bags do not have to be carried we have trolleys which you need get yourself (they are usually all lined up, no Kooleh wali's here I am afraid)
All of your questions are related to travelling to London (for whatever the reason it may be) - i don't see why did you put Getting MArried in the subject .. :|
Chalo! Getting married was added for the second pointer in the post that would tell me if the stuff i am taking of appropriate for the lifestyle there or i maybe over doing things e.g if i took 10 heavy shalwar kameez i would be over weighing and also not going to get to wear them
If you are taking any jewlary the customs may stop & ask to pay duty on it (depending how much you will be taking), since you are on TR, u can try to convince them that you got married and moving to live in London you have no choice but to bring it with you. (It happened to one of my friend's wife but she eventually convinced & walked without paying any customs/duty).
