ya i was also thinking of jimmy's but the issue is i really wanted to show some of his work..and i cant..have searched the net but didnt find any...have heard dossanis is good and reasonable..but again havent seen his work..i wish someone cud share pics of shoots
makeup ill probably go with sabs...i think so..have to get booking done next week..
I had a good experience with sab's. They charge a bit more but since mine was around the time not much weddings were happening, they gave me all their time from makeup to hair to even nail polish details. You can ask for a more customized look, like natural look maybe as compared to dramatic. I was done before the time they said they'll finish. Arrive early. Do focus on your facial, skin care etc.
August time will be definitely hot. Opt for an indoor wedding. Mine was outdoor in summers. I don't like indoor weddings for some reason. I chose dossani's for photos. He did a good job but I wish the photos were more natural looking.
spiral thnks for the info..its really helpful...did dossani take pics with candles..i want to have some pics like that..candles etc..
No, I have strictly asked for natural pictures... No candles or windows bride is looking out of.. I didn't want any of that. I told him that I want pics where we both are looking at each other similing etc. but he didn't do that. He could've done a better job. I wasn't there to pick up the photos or I would've made him do some changes. He didn't change the background in most pics.. My photoshoot with family and friends was done in the bridal makeup room and most are just average looking rooms right.. so you can figure how the background turned out. Ones at my own house with cousin who couldn't make it to the wedding, of course he didn't change the background of those either. My husband had this weird hair sticking out because of AC, he could've fixed that right in the pic?? But he didn't. So when you go to pick up your pic, make sure YOU go.. not someone else. I'll post some pics to let you see what he did. Photoshopping is good but backgrounds plus little details could've been fixed.. Everyone does that.
spiral u are really sweet...if u dont mind me asking..when did u get married?was it recent...hmmm..i am in isloo here pics taken by jahangirs renown photographe are like that..i want all different styles in pics...ill be waiting for the pics...if u want i can send u my email ..if u dont want to post them here...
Umm.. This might be a silly question but I'm going to ask it anyway because I'm not sure of the answer...
So, I don't know where photography fits in. Like in the time slot of getting ready and all that stuff, where does the couple photography fit? Do the pictures get taken before the reception, after? When does it happen? Lol.
i am planning to get my photoshoot done after the makeup is done..then i will go to studo or the photographr will come by at our place..whatever the decision wud be...after the phooshoot ill be going to the reception..but one has to be careful about the time...and yes i am planning to have my nikah on mehndi day...

I'll share pics soon after I edit them so you can see the photography.
As far as photoshoot is, I decied it'll be best if we could do it in the bridal room. I asked my husband to come a lot before guests arrive so we have enough time. I wanted him to see me at the venue as a bride, not at mine or his house. Its best to get ready as early as you can and do the potraits before the wedding in summers specially. Makeup may not be as fresh in summers after few hours. Its totally upto you when you want to do the photoshoot though.
Of course at Walima, the bride is already with her husband at his house so you can do the potraits there.

Hm... okay. I will have to schedule myself a little better, lol. There is nothing wrong with having your nikkah on the mehndi day. I'm having my nikkah in the morning and then a reception at night but now im thinking... maybe I should have the reception the next day?
stardust in my case we are just having one function...it wud be a reception..and yes a mehndi too..but not three functions..so therefore i want nikaah to be on mehndi so i dont have a lot going on the reception day...it wud be getting ready..photo shoot..and the reception..and u are lucky Mashallah that u have lots of time...mine is probably in march..so thats too close..
I am going to wear red too. I just have to find the right tone of red for me. I think no matter where one goes, you will have to guide the make-up artist to what you want and you will need to speak up if you want it done right. I agree with you though, it is really tough because you want everything to be perfect, at least I hope.
As for photo shoot, I heard a lot about studio 9 but I checked out there website, and it's not really what I'm looking for. I need to look into Jimmy. Does anyone know of good photographers that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Yeah, you're right. I do have time but I feel like time will fly by and I'll have nothing done. Yours is in March, that is very close. Wish you the best of luck sweetie! Are you feeling stressed?
stardust i am not really stressed but its just that the whole thing about getting married and thinking of the future life is making me nervous..i am not that stressed about the wedding itself..yes just a little worried about the makeup and photoshoot...thanks dear..hope everything goes well
