now thats a chore too:smack: well my two boys make a lot of mess and i am always cleaning after them,as the house doesnot have carpeting all the wooden flooring ,so its more hard to clean.please help me out and tell me how can i make the to do some work.their daddi does not allow them to do any work as she thinks that its not boys job to clean the house.i dont want them to be a maid ,i just need a lil help from them.they were on track before the visit of there grandma,but now its party time for them.just tell me how can i make them help me out without making it bad for there grandma too.

tell them no toys if they dont clean after they mess things up :)

tried that,plus also told them that i ll buy u a new toy if y wont make mess for 15 days,this is all short time asar wali baatain:(

When is grandma going back? Can you involve your husband, establish rules about at least the toys clean-up..... explain to grandma that you're not making them do the safaayee, they just have to pick up the toys they throw around.

Rule is quite simple at our home. If YOU dont clean up the mess/toys, I'll do, BUT you will not get that toy for at least couple of months. My wife hide the toy. She had to hide only once and now it works like a charm.

All I have to say is "XXXXX you cleaning up the toys or you want me to clean up?" this works like BHAOOOOO on them :)

i have the same situation Sheen but I make the little one clean up. Infact organize her stuff. And I take no lip service from her either.

tell gramma to butt out. thats first of first things

second, tell the older one that the younger one wil do whatever he does, and make a game out of it... like he is the leader... then make him help you clean up. the younger will follow by example.

if he is stuborn, confiscate whatver it is that is making a mess.. toys, crayons etc. and it remains like that for atleast a week until he learns to clean up after himself.
