Re: Getting irritated
I usually excuse myself if it's that bad. I can't actually stand listening to heated, verbal arguments either. I usually end up going outside and waiting for it to be over... I get anxiety.
I'm a very calm person though I would say, not much will make me angry. I think there was only one time and that was when they were talking bad about a family member and didn't know I was there.. But I still try to refrain from getting into verbal fights with anyone. I don't think it's classy to stoop to their level anyways, because most of the time that's what they want, a reaction out of you.
Re: Getting irritated
If anyone has good tactics on this please share. I usually burst out in memorable fireworks.
Re: Getting irritated
Unfortunately, not in a position to give advice on this topic. Like the honorable poster above, fireworks are inevitable.

Hmm
Re: Getting irritated
Don't understand the question. You want to avoid getting irritated and you don't get angry as much?
Re: Getting irritated
I have practiced ignoring a lot. It really helps. Remove yourself from the situation for a while. Then see if you can find a solution through conversation. if not, then ignore until the end of the world !
