getting help

is it acceptable to get financial help from the girls/wife's parents if she is not working

You may need to elaborate the question. Is the girl seeking financial help? Or the guy/husband from wife’s parents? If its only the girl then she can do whatever with her own parents I guess. why wouldnt it be acceptable? Now whether she prefers it or no thats another thing

**In Muslim Culture it is customary if Man cannot afford to support a wife or pay her the Haq Mehr (Gift) then he should not get married! or whatever wealth the bride after the wedding brings into the marriage is hers unless she decides to gift it to her husband!

On the other hand in Hindu Culture the girl has to bring a Dowry depending on the Man’s Financial Status!

If the Man has Bachelors Degree Girls Family has to get him a Motorcycle, if the Man has a Masters Degree they will need to buy him a Car, and if the Man is a Medical Doctor the Girls Parents have to buy him a House!**

Although Indian laws against dowries have been in effect for decades, they have been largely criticized as being ineffective.** The practice of dowry deaths and murders continues to take place unchecked in many parts of India and this has further added to the concerns of enforcement**

The way this question is phrased seems to imply that if the wife is not contributing to the income of a household then her parents should contribute instead. If that is indeed the question then the answer should be No.
