NASA’s Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, or UARS, is expected to plunge toward Earth sometime around Friday (Sept. 23), based on the latest estimates by the agency’s orbital debris experts.
The bus-size UARS satellite is one of the largest NASA satellites to plunge back to Earth uncontrolled in more than 30 years.

This was bound to happen. The amount of debri we have left floating around the earth is eventually going to fall into our atmosphere. They really ought to clean up their mess.
Regardless, I will be looking forward to it. I just hope they find out soon where it’s likely to hit
it will most likely burn to pieces and fall harmlessly to earth [preferably in the open spans of ocean or remote uninhabited regions on land] just like pieces of Skylab fell some years ago. everybody sit back, relax and enjoy watching the spectacular fall!!! :D
I have some memories about the hype that was created. Only source of news in those days was PTV. I dont remember hearing the news directly on tv but everyone was talking about the sky lab then. In the end if I remember correctly, it fall somewhere in Australia or South Africa?
skylab.....wow....blast from the past.....
we were kids..and I recall the adults making fun of my uncle's car cuz it was dhaka-start........named it skylab cuz it would break down all over the city......
