Will you be willing to order a burger made of test tube meat ?
Some interesting and intriguing questions from Islamic point of view.

  1. Will something like this be treated as vegetable or meat ?
  2. What will happen to those who prefer and insist on hand slaughtered ‘Zabiha meat’ ?
  3. Pork grown in labs, will it be halal and haram ?

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

Mirch,

Are you willing to have an Islamic debate of Halal vs Haram? If so, don't you think this would better suite in religion forum for the appropriate debate and discussion?

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

This is an al inclusive debate open for all kinds of point of views that is why it is in 'All Views'.
Some vegans may not have objection to having a laboratory grown meat.
Halal vs Haram is another aspect of the debate not the only aspect of it.

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

NO, I want the real stuff. :snooty:

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

Mirch,

I asked you so, because all three questions that you have listed, you pointed them out as being under the pre-text of "Islamic point of view" :)

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

which should be ALL VIEWS :D

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

hahaha... but then, we have a forum specific for Islamic Point of Views too :D

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

You guys are behaving like traditional molvies looking at everything from the point of view of their own school of thought.
My first question in the post is this:

Will you be willing to order a burger made of test tube meat ?

**This question is very open ended , is it not ?

**

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

its got a religion angle to it, dietary prference angke to it, scientific angle to it, I say it belongs here.

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

no man, i like my meal to come from freshly killed entities.

but i suppose vegetarians will run out of excuses now.

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

Mirch, at no point we are trying to act like “traditional molvies” (as you put).. If anything, we are acting like top notch Scholars :snooty: asking questions and getting to know the reasons behind than putting fatwah on …

I am not moving your thread but asking some basics to see a need of moving if it exists… Your thread stays.. enjoy posting

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

As for the topic, I would not want a test tube meat.... and as one question mentions, the zabiha factor is there, so I doubt if it could be termed as Halal.... as for pork, yes in my understanding, it will be treated as pork ....

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

AQ if its stem cells from a zabiha animal, then technically that meat is zabiha and anything made from those stem cells is okay..right?

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

Thank you pir sahab , your opinion is very valuable. I wanted to say the bold and red statement of your , but you are pir you know what your mureeds are thinking

Thanks for not being a mullah/moulvi. I do not have anything agaist a real Alim and I have high regards for a majority of them.

Thanks ya shaikh for the fatwa. ( for those who do not know fatwa is an opinion of an Islamic scholar on some matter of controversy. It is not a decision , You have all the right to agree or disagree with a fatwa.
Decisions are given by Qazi in an Islamic state and are binding.)

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

abay chal, qazi toh nikah parhwatay hain..:(

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

X2,

Seems like it. But I will actually see if enough "DalaaiL" are there for it. Historically, most of the initial fataawah in the past regarding things related to science have been faulty (ref: telephone, microphone, loud speaker etc.) so I would rather wait and remove any doubt by studying it or getting to know all point of views.

Re: Get me a test tube burger please.

so what are the perspectives

zabiha standing
health impact (meat safety, are there any new dangers or increased danger)

and...one of the biggest....

does it taste as good???

if so, gimme a prime rib...rare..pronto
