Get ill every Ramadan-any docs out here?

so every year I try fasting and every year my roza is wasted because I end up vomiting…kept the first one on Monday and was feeling sick all day but controlled myself…then around 4pm vomited about 4-5 times…i dont understand why?

People I have spoken to say my meda (gut) is weak thats why? God knws? How do i make it stronger?? I havent fasted since then but I want to and will try again on weekend..any tips guys?

Re: Get ill every Ramadan-any docs out here?

sorry to hear the rozay make you unwell!!! I have heard that unintentional vomiting doesn't make your fast void so no need to stop due to the fact that you are sick.

However, the concern would be for your health if you end up vomiting so much that you end up dehydrated.

Good luck!

see a doctor and he may prescribe you Gravol or something. if your vomitting is uncontrollable then speak to the Imam of your local masjid and i am sure he'll say that it's ok to skip rozas on medical grounds and he'll ask you to feed a poor person in lieu of fasting...once your condition is treated, you will have to complete the number of rozas you missed. Good Luck and may Allah help you...aameen :)

Re: Get ill every Ramadan-any docs out here?

Thanks guys...

the issue is that it happens every year and it upsets me coz i really want to fast..

i vomited once and controlled it during the day and felt better so I kept my roza...but when i got home from work i vomited 4-5 times so hubby told me to break the fast...which was upsetting coz i spent all day controlling myself..

goign to try again on weekend now inshallah..pls pray for me...i really want to keep them...im young so its embarrasing to not keep them..and some ppl think i just use it as an excuse..which is not true :( Allah paak knows...

There is no dispute among the scholars concerning the fact that vomiting deliberately is one of the things that invalidate the fast, but if a person cannot help vomiting, that does not break his fast. This was mentioned by al-Khattaabi and Ibn al-Mundhir. See al-Mughni, 4/368.
The evidence for that from the Sunnah is the report narrated by al-Tirmidhi (720) from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever cannot help vomiting does not have to make up the fast, but whoever makes himself vomit deliberately, let him make it up.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said in al-Fataawa (25/266): With regard to vomiting, whoever makes himself vomit deliberately has broken his fast, but if he cannot help vomiting, this does not break the fast.

So its only during fasting and not otherwise??
What do you take for sehri ?

I have heard that drinking barley water (jau ka pani) is extremely beneficial for the maida.
