I am now convinced that people who frequent GS are not astute observers. Jeez, people!!! THINK!! The in-laws are the not the ones who have a problem with the nose, the guy does. The guy likes the gal, sans the nose. He is a shallow individual with a pinch of cowardice. He is scared to tell her himself, so he uses his mom and sisters as a front.

i agree with you! but i'll add the gal knows from that he is a superficial individual who thinks of her future spouse as nothing more than an pretty thing to show around his success, like a sport car. Some gals like that position, some don't, at least she knows what she is up to!:)

Lets all get off high moral ground and think for a moment

The idea generally is to place your kids or rather girls in stable households...it is accepted that the word when using the word "stable" economics tends to be at the top of the list
if the family is accepting the girl...albeit with minor adjustments ...what is the issue?

In other cases they may say we'd like the girl to carry on studying to matrix level or whatever

or she needs to be a hafiz of the Quran ...

or she needs to learn how to cook and iron underpants

everyone asks for something in return

What the girl needs to think about is

"is she happy to have a little minor surgery (short term discomfort)
for the chance to live a better( materialistically) life.. for her and her(potentially funny-nosed) children....(long term gain)

the other option is that that she will be discarded and dumped and every one will know why

they will call her the girl with the funny nose and no other boy will want to marry her ...no matter how lovely her personality

people will keep looking at her nose to find out why the "M-reekans" didnt like her nose

she will become a curiosity people will look at her and even if they dont she will become paranoid...and eventually become a recluse with depression etc

she end up an old maid

a bit like me... but probably with a better memory

SO yes...I think she should have the surgery...

just picture this complicated relation....the guy is the girls' chachi's brother...and her father's brother who is the chacha of the grl is in charge of da rishta and handeling it...so the girl's father said no to his brother and gave a staight answer which is no but the parents who r the inlaws don't know as yet....
