This is a tough one for me. Normally I'd say why not let the person wear what she wants within limits of decorum.
But picture this - it's germany, the kids in the class all come from families very very different from a hijab'ed teachers. How will the parents be confident that the teacher can understand what drives these kids, what's going on in their families that an affect learning etc? Particularly after knowing this person refuses to compromise even on mere symbols?
For more senior levels (such as college level) the students have developed enough to understand what they can emulate and what they need to know and tolerate as 'different' but at very young age, this could be a problem.
I think it's also a question of how common hijabs and turbans etc are for where these kids live.
All considered therefore, I'd say in this case, the interests of the kids come before that of the religious symbolism of the hijab. The would be teacher should revaluate if teaching kids in germany is more important for her or the mere symboilism of hijab.

Any of you that advocate death for apostates in Muslims societies ought to be ashamed for contributing to this thread. It's like criticizing someone for having a bugger in his nose while you blow snot all over your neighbor.

Ok, let's open a new thread - Why do some Muslims demand full rights in western societies while advocating death for non Muslims in Islamic societies? What would be the proper forum since we don't have a Hypocrisy Forum?

I understand alright. You want your cake and to eat it too. If you advocate the killing of non Muslims in your utopia khilafa la-la land, your arguments here are invalid. These things, no matter the title or topic of the thread are not mutually exclusive. These things don't exist in a vaccuum, they are inter-related.

I didn´t hear that, even though I live in Germany. Maybe there is link to the politic-party CDU/CSU who won the German elections not many days ago. I heard that they wanted to forbid wearing headscars in public facilities.

Do you equate killing to dress code restrictions? Besides, I’m not justifying the hijab ban, I just think it is ridiculous for those who advocate discrimination and religious domination in one society to demand all their rights it in another society.

seminole, its not a question of equating anything here. I dont equate killing to dress code violations, or secret evidence based inprisonment to forcing ppl to cover up.
But should your rights be taken away just because someone who shares the same religion, nationality, race as you is mouthing off? can we punish a large group due to the actions, statements of a few?
if I was advocating discrimination in one society yet want all equality in another then I am a hypocrate of the highest degree, but if I am not advocating discrimination then dont I have a right to ask for equality/freedom, and is it right for someone to curb my freedom?

Mr F, I am against any ban on headscarves worn for religious reasons any where, including this German instance.
You, being an advocate for freedom and non-discrimination have every right to argue the same. I am speaking to those who do not advocate freedom in their own socieities but demand it in others. And I think that is very relevant to this thread.

If you are in a society where people walk around naked, you would have to do the same too. If you dont want to walk around naked just leave. Nobody is forcing you to stay.
When in Saudi Arabia do as the saudis do.
The argument that the westerners live in secluded place while in the middle eastern countries does not hold water. There are so many westerners who live and behave in a manner befitting the Saudi society while in Saudi Arabia.

Great statement. What if I dont have a job. I will survive on social security. I would rather have them take away my job so that I dont have to work.
Allah has also asked you to not go out unless accompanied by a male relative. Do you subscribe to these views as well. I would rather say that selective following of Allah's rules is not a good idea and leaves much to be desired...

no they dont allow. I would personaly feel that this should be impilimented in India as well. We are all asked to wear uniforms at school. If one wears its religious symbol with it, then it defeats the purpose of having uniforms in school.
