KARACHI: Geo TV management made Wednesday its worker Haroon Leghari to end the token hunger strike after great insistence on him, as he resolved to continue with the move until death. Geo worker Haroon Leghari was on till-death hunger strike for nine days against the suspension of Geo TV broadcast; however, Geo TV management forced him to end his strike. On this occasion, Geo TV Network President Imran Aslam garlanded Leghari and served him with yogurt.
On this occasion, other Geo TV workers were also present to encourage him. Haroon Leghari said, ‘the struggle is not over yet and the protest is still continues,’ adding Geo is an impartial channel and the government should stand by its promise of freedom of press by restoring it.
I have yet to see any western media channels show the dead bodies of terrorists or interview terrorist leaders (like Zarqawi say) right at the time when their military was in battle with them. There is no doubt that such channels would never do that, not only because they know it would be distasteful, but also that there would be a severe reaction from the authorities (and public).
Only Geo did that, and thereby entirely abuse the media freedoms granted to them by Musharraf. They were advised/warned by the govt to stop these kind of broadcasts, but they carried on regardless, so action had to be taken against them.
these geo people themselfs have gone bonkers by replicating indian dramas and have themselfs turned into drama baazis, they probably have a mandir in there office is well and do puja.

Just goes to prove President Musharaf gave media more Freedom than any other country.
AAG tv, GEO SUper and others are allowed to go on air ......its only that GEO NEWS has been shut down and that too can go on air if GEO sign on the agreement of regularity authority that every channel, newspaper etc do all over the world .... GEO is making fuss of it. Looks like they opted to lean it hard way ...be it !
