Yup, they were controversial but they weren't banned because they were flashing too much skin or the images in the news were too graphic but now they had started opening Musharraf's pole which was unacceptable to him so he decided to ban them, which is wrong.

Yes, they were also glorifying terrorist activities and underminimg army operations, they also generated the whole *tamasha *which led to the lal masjid operation; Musharraf was being taunted as not doing enough to handle the situation and going too easy 24 hours a day on these channels.
Interestingly, none of these channels, specially GEO would have anything to say about the operations of Don Altaf Bhagaurha!
Perhaps Geo is quoted because Geo is a highly regarded news source in the region, particularly when it comes to Pakistan.
Instead of being proud that a Pakistani media outlet could grow to such repute, we start vilifying them to appease some pro dictator lobby…

stop getting civilian gov stuff being a pakistani i dont deserve a democracy. Extremisim problems was at that time too may be not that severe.. After the. Sept 11 the pot is opened .. Actually when GEO was launched few years ago, that's exactly what many sections of society called them. Walls in major cities were full of anti Geo slogans labeling them Jews and Jew agents. Only memories are short in Pakistan.
Religious parties were in forefront calling them Jews.
