http://www.loralskynet.com/fleet/telstar5/t5ft_us.asp.html

The Telstar option is interesting! Ppl in the US can get Ten Sports! Nice!

In fact, Hotbird 4's footprint also reaches northern Pakistan (Punjab, NWFP, Kashmir). This is the satellite series Hotbird 1,2,3,4,5,6 which has the most channels.

Yeah, I know I have 'em over there. Is hotbird 6 a new addition?

Thanks :k:

faisal, I tried adding Geo Tv using the above frequecy settings to my Digibox. but it wont show in the list.. only the channels shown in this list:
http://www.satmania.com/eng/satchannels/list/?orbpos_id=&satellite_id=&scramtype_id=&package_id=&language_id=&bcchtype_id=&satch_name=&bcstdirtype_id=&satrange_id=&transptype_id=2&transp_freq=10723&polartype_id=H&n=&search.x=14&search.y=6

are added.. But Geo is not..? :-/

Is there anyone who can confirm the above frequeny works?

gizzy the “OU ch 8” is GEO TV, i can confirm that it is GEO Tv, coz i set up on this freq on 3 different setup boxes and it shows the name this OU ch 8 but it is GEO…

and “Tamil 02HI” is Sony TV (Europe)

check here again http://www.lyngsat.com/hb4.shtml

can someone explain for a non technical person in the US how i could get these channels?

Gizzy

Its been there since a while. In Hotbrd, all these 6 satellites are together, i.e. come at the same time in the same position.

Thank faisal
I had figured that out myself. Actually, I was expecting it to show the name GEO in the list, apparantly they switched the freqeuncy, because the old frequency where Geo used to be is now an Arabic channel. And so I assume ke this “Ou ch8” used to be some channel on this frequency.

Thanks anyway. :k:

I am not sure if you can receive Hotbird in USA?

As far as I can see it here it doesn’t:
http://www.geo-orbit.org/sizepgs/shtbrdwp.html

Alternately you could try and add GEO and ARY on intelsat 805 at 55,5 degrees W

sallama, you just have to add the give frequency and symbol rate in the MENU of your sat receiver using the manual installation. And then do a search. But make sure you have first moved the Satellite dish towards Hotbird :) Or else it will find nothing!

thank you Gizzy

Didn't think of moving the /dish

Wouldn't that disrupt all the other channels u receive?

A

Can someone corfirm if GEO TV can still be received on the above frequency? The screen is dark since this morning!
I wonder if it has gone behind a decoder from today?? :-(

Moving the dish is only possible if you have a motor. This way you can watch more programmes from more than just one satellite.

sorry Gizzy…

it is encrypted now in Irdeto 2 / Viaccess 2 :frowning:

An update:

Geo TV testing
- by net1 on 04 Sep, 2004 - 11:13 AM

Pakistan's most popular news and entertainment satellite channel Geo TV is launching on Sky within days. The channel has officially gone live showing real time testing direct from Pakistan. Geo TV tests can be found at 11.390 (V) under the label "53520".

They didn't mention above what Satellite it is. But my own findings revealed that it is on Eurobird 28.5E!
