Anybody heard the latest on this project? Apparently they have solved the DNA mystery that was preventing us from sourcing cures for many, many diseases.

How long do you think before they find a way to eradicate HIV? 10, 20, maybe 50 years?
Though i'm not entirely sure and haven't been following up on it, I think that they have only mapped the human genome, they are still trying to figure out how to specifically 'amend' the unwanted sequence of nucleotides...
They say that technology doubles every seven years but I think that the majority of it is in computer technology and though biotechnology is a major 'beneficiary' with and emphasis on HIV/HTLV and cancer and genitics research
Saying all that, here is a 'theory' which can be extended to many other fields and makes sense but doesn't necessarily have to...major drug companies make alot of money through AIDS treatments but not cures; so even if there is a great opportunity to eradicate this completely, they would lose so much money because the **most **profit is in these types of drugs and since everyone is doing AIDS research, noone really wants their expensive ventures to go for nothing...so even when there is a cure inshalla' who knows when it will be implemented...

well only the DNY sequences are encoded, and some of the GEne-codes. but which orders for the new child these sequences hide in themselves, it is a long way to encode this. and most of genes are multilocal, ooohhhh that is a big discussion. there is a lot of to be done in this research.
regarding AIDS i think the newest research is to find the receptor of that T-Cells where the HIV-virus binds on. and that i think will be done in some years. and then a new medicine to block this receptor for the virus should not be too difficult.
but who knows…?? the only one.
