Genocide education through art

HI i am writting an essay based on how art visualises genocide. I need opinions of people to include in my essay.

It would be a great help if you give your views about about it.

Re: Genocide education through art

can u please elaborate your topic bit more.

Re: Genocide education through art

Genocide is genocide, I don't think art or artist would view it any different. Many artists have preserved memories of such events on canvas.

Re: Genocide education through art

Well, an artist may look for commonalities between different genocidal events and portray a thought process. An artist can also symbolify an event by identifying ethnicities and common practices...hmmm...I can clarify that later.

Re: Genocide education through art

art can be healing, yet traumatic memories cannot be healed, by anything under the sun.
art work produced and shared, may soften the impact or even distract from the core of trauma, but, it never can fully eliminate the traumatic memories and their experiences.
