If there’s one thing Italian coachbuilders are good for, it’s turning out lust-worthy pieces of machinery. Touring Superlaggera pulled the sheets back on its very own effort in that category with the Disco Volante. The [Alfa Romeo](http://www.autoblog.com/tag/alfa romeo/) 8C-based creation bowed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and was inspired by none other than the 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 Disco Volante. With a 444 horsepower, 4.7-liter V8 lurking under that aluminum bodywork, the modern take on the classic should have no trouble hustling down your favorite Italian Alpine pass.

The sprint to 62 miles per hour will take you a slim 4.2 seconds, and the speedometer will wrap all the way to 181 mph before the coupe runs out of steam. Of course, that’s once you take delivery. According to Touring Superlaggera, each car will take some 4,000 man hours to complete, soaking up six months of the company’s time in the process.
