anyone with slight idea of how military strategy actually works would know that comparison of generals and their battles looks similar only on paper in history books written by analysts who have no idea what it feels like being under fire and watching comrades fall one after another.
the situation with TIGER Niazi in 1971 was made a lose-lose situation by the brilliantly planned political strategy of one man who has been Pakistan's greatest curse so far; Bhutto. along with a few top line generals of the aarmy the man created all the fuss we paid for as a nation. Tikka Khan was one of the 'sold' generals. Yahya had been a good slodier but powre corrupts and the hope of greater power corrupts even more...
if you read accounts of soldiers who were in Dhaka in Dec71 including that of Gen Niazi youd know what a mess it all was. the top politicians, leaders, generals had all cornered Niazi to pay for their cheap bought glory. they wanted to put it all on Niazi. the fcat was that it was all planned and days before surrender Niazi whenever asked for reenforcements there was no response from the western command. that made it clear that there was some conspiracy and there was no way out. sure Niazi could have fought to the last drop of blood as he had claimed few days before 16 dec, but he was smart enogut to know what was planned by the higherups and knew there as no point. had he fought and died there, the leadres would have made him into a loser and a failed general and would have put all blame on him and would have cursed him for alleged ineptitude. Niazi was a winner general and knew better. b surrendering he blew their conspiracies and plans and the blame wasnt put on his shoulders alone but the saner population knew it was the top politicians and corrupt brass. Niazi was a simple case of wrong place at the wrong time.
think about it, there's no way Niazi could have wanted bad for Pakistan. he was a brave soldier, won the MC in Burma. killed Japanese officers in hand to hand combat in WWII. why would he let his nation down...? even if he did, what did he gain out of it!? he died a simple man. while his fellow generals like Yahya, Tikka won imp posts and made money. politicians like bhutto became 'great' leaders and PM and not to mention there generations dont have to work to live luxuriously...that much they gathered! what did Niazi get!?
he certainly got out prayers, he will be rewarded in the eternal world InshALLah! may he rest in peace.
may his name be remembered among our heroes forever.
Thankyou Haris. God Bless you for posting the truth

You got that right bro. The weapon of choice of a whole bunch of sher-e-muhallas is the keyboard.
