Anyone recommend anywhere I can go for a gender scan? I’m new to Pakistan, going back home to UK for my delivery later but I’m 17 weeks and I want a private gender scan. Where can I go? In UK you can get private gender scans from 16 weeks, why is noone offering it here.. [emoji17]

I had a scan 2 3 days ago but my Dr seems so uninterested in my case especially since she heard I’m not staying for delivery. I’ve changed Dr’s twice they just seem interested in money only here [emoji24]

Why are telling them that you are not staying for the delivery?

Because I told her I'll need a letter to travel. . Shouldn't I have told her ?

There's no reason for you to tell them (or ANYONE in the doctor's office) right now that you're delivering in UK. Tell them this information when you actually need the letter.

Doctors in Pakistan don't tell gender.

They all asked when I registered with them if I wanted to deliver with them. That's very unfortunate their behaviour changes towards a patient when they realise they won't be making the final paycheck :(

The doctor should have told you law of the land as Mr. Mahool told. In India, this is a criminal (not civil) offence. In India, in some 'civilised' families birth of a girl is considered unwelcoming and a burden. So they do sex determination and kill the baby (if found female) before birth.

in India also, it's illegal to disclose the gender of the baby for fear of aborting the fetus. the society still prefers 'boys'. what a shame!

I don't think it's illegal here as I know many people who've been told beforehand..

I'd be happy either way, I found knowing gender in my first pregnancy really helped me bond with baby beforehand..

Such a shame how people can have such terrible mentality towards a little angel [emoji20]

You know little or nothing. They don't care. If we talk about some Hindu families, they will worship goddess Shakti (Strength, Goddess Kali) but don't like second or third baby girl to born in family. This is the case with so called educated and civilised people. Sex ratio in tribal people is highest in country.

Tell her/them when it is time to travel. Why create isuues for yourself by letting out such details too early.

They usually dont call it gender scan here.
U can get a routine ultrasound done n ask for gender.

Why's it so important to know the gender and why do you need to return to the UK for delivery?

I had mine at blue area. Dr. Amina majeed if I remember her name correctly but I don't remember the name of ultrasound clinic.

First of all, next when u change your dr. dont tell them that you will not having delivery services in Pakistan :p
And dr. tell gender , you can ask them.

I don't value one gender over another but would still love to know beforehand if it was possible..
