Myvoice, Sadams capture makes little difference to peoples views about Iraq. Violence is still widespread, coalition forces are still being attacked, Iraqi civilians are still being killed both from US bullets and Iraqi resistance, the humanitarian situation is a disaster with millions living on less than $10 per week, thousands of children are suffering from malnutrion, the water supplies are still not fully functionable, the sewage system has not been fully repaired, during the war Hospitals were ransacked by thugs while American GI's stood watching, the economy is near collapse, some of its industries have been sold illegally to Bush's friends in corporate America, some of which seem to be experts in corruption and I could go on and on.
Im sure Clark and the other Democrat candidates will be upping the ante in the coming days, using Bushs disasterous foreign policies as examples of his failures as President.
^ You need to revisit the thread titled: "Is Saddam's Capture the End of Dean?"
The same charges are being thrown out against Clark that are being thrown out against Dean.
Not only has Saddam's capture made a demonstrable difference in the polls about people's view of Bush on Iraq, it has also made a difference in how people view Bush's performance on the economy. These certainly coould be short term bounces based upon future events. However, the statements made by the other DEM presidential candidates about Dean and Clark will have much more long lasting effects.
The GOP just has to play commercials of Lieberman, Gephardt and Kerry telling the American people why Dean and Clark are not fit to be president to destroy their chances. Bush can take the high road and never even say a thing.

Myvoice, like UTD stated earlier its very early days and there are many other factors that could effect public opinion in the coming weeks. Most Americans are interested in the record of Bush in Power, **not* someones TV commercial about Dean or Clarks views on the Iraq war. Facts such as US troops may have to stay in Iraq for another 2 years even after an interim Iraqi government is put in power, facts like WMD has not been found and most experts state that there never was any WMD, facts like Bush and Rumsfeld lied to justify war, facts like the costs of the Iraq war run into the billions (150 B) with many Americans worried about the long term effects to the US economy and also the damage to the US image in much of the world. I could go on and on. Whoever wins the Democratic nomination im sure will put up a very strong challenge against Bush.
